So what the heck does yole mean, after all?

As far as I remember, this name appeared when I was 13 or so. That time, I was a very big fan of all kinds of fantasy, especially Tolkien and Anne McCaffrey. As it is typical for fantasy fans, I longed to have my own fantasy name, but couldn't really associate myself with any character of Tolkien or any other of my favourite authors.

So, one day in school during a break between the lessons, I said: "Well, it's time for me to get a name for myself". After a bit of thinking, I continued: "The name will be Yoletir". A bit later, a conlang (constructed language) called eoytemoo. Among the first words invented for that language were yole, meaning a straight and light longsword, and tiri - I don't remember for sure whether it meant "to attack" or "to defend". That's about everything I remember about that language - well, that and the fact that the name of the language meant "good speech".

And when I got interested in the demoscene and felt that I needed a handle, the best choice was to reuse the existing name. Some time later, I decided that neither the full form of the name nor its capitalized spelling please my aesthetic feelings, so the name was finally shortened to yole.
